I don’t do this for the money. I don’t do it for the access, though that has been fun the few times I’ve been able to get into a show by saying I’m a journalist. I don’t do this to kid myself into believing that I somehow know better than everyone else about what should receive the spotlight or how to define this genre.
I started this project because I like country music.
I wanted to share my ideas about it and find a way to open the door to this music to those in my community who regularly would say they listen to anything but country music. I’m not trying to convert or save anyone or anything.
I just like this music and I want to talk about it…
But the recognition from those I admire is nice, too.
So I’d like to thank Miss for reading last week’s piece and sharing it with her networks. And I want to welcome those of you who subscribed this week thanks to her endorsement.

Now, with that behind me, here are a few select old issues that I feel give you a good taste of what you’re in for as a subscriber:
I also write for Saddle Mountain Post — on the impact of nostalgia and Los Angeles country music and the business of independent country music. I used to write for Honky Tonk Times, which was pretty neat, but it went the way of most print outlets.
Each week, I write a “New Music Tuesday” post because there are too many lists that come out on Friday, and usually one more thing for my dedicated subscribers. I do have some paid subscription content, but you’re new, so check it out before you toss me a few bones, if you’d like.
Anyway, thanks for joining us, and I hope you stay engaged, leave some comments and share this newsletter with friends who might like it.
You’ll be hearing from me tomorrow with some great new songs and albums.
Until next time, keep on listening to great country music.
